Let's Play Armored Core: Ranking Ravens
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Tue, 2010-08-03 22:59 ::I've basically completely glossed over the Raven rankings, so as another text-only update, let's go through the Ranking Ravens. The Top 10 Ravens are given using their ranks at the start of the game, the ranks change as you play through the game.
Sometimes these changes are based on fights with enemy Ravens, but frequently, they change regardless of your actions.
Let's Play Armored Core: Large Text Dump
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Sat, 2010-07-31 07:22 ::Since I've basically completely skipped the story so far, here are some emails from R to explain the various factions that make up the future world of Armored Core.
Let's start with Murakumo Millennium and Chrome themselves:
From: R
Chrome and Murakumo
Zam City was one of the very first cities built in the underground city development program, so redevelopment is proceeding in various areas of the city.
Let's Play Armored Core!
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Fri, 2010-06-11 01:30 ::
Armored Core is a game series by From Software, who are best known for, well, the Armored Core game series. While still somewhat a niche title, Armored Core is a fairly successful "mech" game. You play as a mercenary, called a Raven, who pilots an Armored Core: a giant customizable mech.

I Finished Final Fantasy XIII...’s story
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Mon, 2010-05-03 19:03 ::I’ve finished the story in Final Fantasy XIII. Still a ton left to do, like collect all the trophies, get the super-ultimate weapons, and what-not. (Although I’m not entirely sure how much I’m actually going to do.)
Which, I think, gives me some credit to make some comments about Yahtzee’s Final Fantasy XIII review.
Let’s Play Commander Keen 5: It Has Begun
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Fri, 2010-04-23 16:38 ::My brother and I have started playing through Commander Keen 5, a relatively well known old DOS side-scroller.
And one that really hasn’t aged well, nor does it play as well as some of the more well-known console-based side-scrollers like Mario.
I’m not going to upload the video quite yet, although it looks like we’ve got a working system. Before I get to that, I want to finish my Commander Keen 4 Pyramid of the Forbidden video, which I’ve finally got a “finished” version of that I still need to upload.
Let's Play Commander Keen 4
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Tue, 2010-03-23 19:21 ::PAX East is coming up this weekend, and what better way to prepare than to play really old DOS sidescrollers?
So, Let's Play Commander Keen 4!
This is my first Let's Play, so it's going to be a bit rough around the edges. Video is available after the jump.
Xenoveritas's Incomplete Guide to Final Fantasy XIII Equipment Upgrading
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Fri, 2010-03-19 05:05 ::Based on what I've currently figured out, every item has a "multiplier" that they apply to items to determine how much XP they offer. Therefore, XP values between items are consistent between each individual item, so something that provides more XP to one item will provide more XP to another item, even if the exact amounts aren't the same.
Final Fantasy XIII: Freaking Eidolon Battles
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Mon, 2010-03-15 20:29 ::The Eidolon battles in Final Fantasy XIII are stupidly hard. These are the battles where you fight against a summon monster in order to gain the ability to summon it in battle.
Now you might be assuming I'm complaining about them being challenging. Except they're not, they're basically just rapidly switching between Paradigms and mashing X. (Or A on the Xbox 360.)
No, instead they're needlessly hard because of the way they're designed.
