RetroView: Devil May Cry 3 versus Devil May Cry 4
Submitted by Tim on Fri, 2008-07-25 04:21. ::We've recently been playing Devil May Cry 4, which got me back into playing Devil May Cry 3.
You see, Xeno, with his shiny black colossus that he theoretically got to play MGS4 and then promptly ignored it, can play DMC4. See, I don't have an XBOX or a PS3, and don't feel like getting the PC version (DMC is the epitome of a CONSOLE game) so I'm stuck with my older DMC3SE. You know what, though? I don't mind.

And they have, sort of:
That's it. An avatar, your user name, and what would be an "about me" message if I ever bother to fill it in.
Review: Devil May Cry 4
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Mon, 2008-07-07 00:20. ::| System: | PlayStation 3 |
| Score: | 4 (Good) |
Devil May Cry 4 introduces a new main character named Nero. This, of course, introduces fears of Raiden Syndrome. And Devil May Cry 4 falls prey to this: Nero isn't really an annoying character, but ultimately, he's Not Dante, and Devil May Cry 4 is not Devil May Cry 3.
On Metal Gear Solid 4...
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Fri, 2008-06-27 22:16. ::It has to be said, plain and simple: I have far more fun playing Devil May Cry 4 than Metal Gear Solid 4.
Despite Devil May Cry 4 receiving an 84 on MetaCritic and Metal Gear Solid 4 getting a 94.
In short, while MGS4 is by no means a terrible game, it's vastly overrated. DMC4 is, simply put, more fun (to me at least) than MGS4. That's all there is to it.
(Not that DMC4 isn't without its problems. It's got them.)
Sony: Don't Bother Buying PS3 Until June
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Thu, 2008-03-06 19:59. ::Sony has announced that, in an effort to meet their March sales target, no one should bother buying a PlayStation 3 until June 12th.
In a posting on the PlayStation blog, Sony explained that with the April release of the Dual Shock 3 controller and a new PlayStation 3 bundle on June 12th, there's simply no reason to buy a PS3 until then.
Sony Replaces 80GB PS3 With 80GB PS3
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Tue, 2008-02-26 21:07. ::So, after taking the current 80GB PS3 off the market, tons of speculation was raised that Sony would be releasing a new PS3. After all, why else would they remove a model that, according to Sony, was selling as well as the 40GB model if not to replace it with a new, better model?
Unfortunately it would appear "winning" the Blu-ray battle has returned Sony back to our old "you're lucky to even be allowed to buy a PS3" Sony. The 80GB PS3 will be replaced with an 80GB PS3.
New PS3 Model Coming Out?
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Tue, 2008-01-29 19:07. ::I've been looking into buying a PS3 recently (hey, I need to do something to pass the time before Super Smash Bros. Brawl is finally released...), and I've noticed that the 80GB PS3 seems to be disappearing.
It's no longer available from Best Buy. I asked a blue-shirt at a Best Buy if they had any 80GB PS3s. When they looked it up on the computer, I noticed that the "deleted" flag had been set on its entry. Apparently Best Buy no longer expects to carry 80 GB PS3s.
PS3: Sony's Various Ups and Downs. But Mostly Downs.
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Sat, 2006-07-08 03:15. ::This is starting to get to be ridiculous. It all started with the announcement that we could expect the "cheap" PS3 to cost $500, and has continued to spiral downhill from there. So here's my attempt at a list of everything we currently know about the PS3:
- The "cheap" version is severely crippled, missing the HDMI output that allows high-def Blu-Ray movies, and cannot be upgraded to fix this flaw.
- Blu-Ray looks substantially worse than HD-DVD.
- The PS3 memory architecture is such that only half can be read by the main CPU.
The PS3 for HOW much?!
Submitted by Xenoveritas on Sun, 2006-05-28 22:02. ::According to some unsubstantiated rumors, Sony is going to miss the $600 price point for the PS3. The actual price is rumored to be even higher due to extremely low chip yields for the cutting-edge PS3. Right now it's expected that the PS3 will sell for around $650, although that price may actually still rise if they can't improve yields.
