Moved WoW Posts to WoW Section

Topics

World of Warcraft

Well, I've added a World of Warcraft section, so I've moved the World of Warcraft specific posts over to it.

If you want to be kept up to date on the World of Warcraft addons, and various other World of Warcraft news, bookmark the new section.

The front page will now be dedicated to - oh, who knows. Stuff.

And I'm Back...

Topics
xenoveritas.org

Well, I'm back. At some point I should come up with more news to bump these off the front page... Oh well.

On Leave...

Topics
xenoveritas.org

I'm currently in Washington, DC for a technology symposium - I'll be back tomorrow, but I won't be able to respond to email and there's a decent chance I won't be able to see anything here, either.

Final Fantasy

Well, I'm back. And in the time spent waiting around for delayed flights, I've been able to add some more features to the Vana'diel clock. Still no alarms, but that should hopefully come soon.

AOL Off Desktop

Topics
xenoveritas.org

Ever installed an AOL program, like WinAMP or AIM, and notice that all these annoying AOL icons appear? Well, that's the biproduct of an annoying app that AOL provides called "AOL On Desktop" that dumps AOL icons on your desktop.

So I'm providing AOL Off Desktop to remove them.

Download Here (59.1 KB)

This program will automatically remove the icons AOL has dumped onto your desktop. It was created using the NSIS installer, originally developed by Nullsoft, which AOL has since eaten.

Skillchains Extension 0.9.0 Released

Topics
Firefox
xenoveritas.org
Final Fantasy

It's been a while since I've released a new version, so here it is.

This release contains one new feature: the ability to select multiple weapons for a given player. A version 0.9.1 will allow you to sign individual skill levels for the weapons.

This version also does what I threatened to do ages ago: support for versions of Firefox prior to 1.0 is dropped.

New Look!

Topics
xenoveritas.org

As you can probably tell, I've changed the way the pages look. You can (almost) change the style back, if you want to, by using the Style Chooser in Mozilla or Opera. If you use IE, you can just live with the change. :)

Update: The content columns used to be fixed width, meaning that if your browser wasn't sized exactly like mine it would look weird. I've since updated and changed it so that the content column flows to fill up the space and the sidebars take up less room.

I've also moved the "welcome" post over to the sidebar.

New Smilies!

Topics
xenoveritas.org

No real point to this, but I've updated some of the existing smilies (since I think they look bad) and added two new ones:

:wtf: - Huh?!
:bigcry: - Whaaa!

Updated ones include :D, :), 8),, :P, and .

( could use some work, but I never could come up with a good version.)

Look, Ma, New Software

Topics
xenoveritas.org

After considering many different designs for how to set up a dynamic homepage and how to handle various templating and user information, I finally...

...took the easy way out and installed phpBB and a custom mod I had already created.

This means I can easily create new front page posts simply by posting stuff using the phpBB interface.

Yay! I guess.

This means that all the "existing" news posts are now marked as having been posted all today. I might get around to resetting the dates back to something more reasonable... but probably not. Honestly, it's not really worth the effort.
